Bruce Willis’ loved ones are holding tight to every moment as the Die Hard legend’s health continues to decline.

The 70-year-old star has been battling frontotemporal dementia, a devastating brain disorder that’s slowly taken away his ability to recognize those closest to him — including his wife, Emma Heming Willis, and their daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.

“They know Daddy’s not going to get better,” Emma recently shared. “They grieve. They miss their dad so much.”

Bruce’s health battle began in 2022 when he retired from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia — a disorder that affects speech and understanding. Within months, the condition progressed into full-blown dementia.

His oldest daughter, Rumer Willis, has also opened up about the pain of watching her father fade. “Whether he recognizes me or not, he can still feel the love I give him,” she said.

Despite the heartbreak, Bruce’s blended family — including ex-wife Demi Moore and their daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah — is determined to keep spirits high this holiday season.

“Everyone in the Willis family loves the holidays,” a family friend said. “They feel blessed to still have Bruce here. They’re treating this time with him as a gift to be cherished.”

Emma revealed that Bruce now lives in a second home with a 24-hour care team — a painful but necessary decision. “I knew Bruce would want that for our daughters,” she explained.

Still, the girls visit often. “The house is filled with love, warmth, care, and laughter,” Emma said.

Even as Bruce’s memory fades, his family treasures the little moments that remain. “He’s holding our hands, we’re kissing him, we’re hugging him,” Emma shared. “He’s reciprocating. He’s into it. That’s all I need.”

Emma says she’s learned to “walk alongside grief,” finding strength in love. “The grief I feel over what’s happening is rooted in the deep love I have for Bruce and our family,” she said.

Demi, too, continues to be a source of support, calling Emma’s care for Bruce “masterful.” The former couple, who divorced in 2000, have remained close friends.

As Emma and the girls fill notebooks with funny stories and sweet memories of Bruce, they’re preparing for the inevitable — but doing it with love.

“When the time comes,” a family insider said, “Emma wants to look back with nothing but laughter and gratitude. That’s what Bruce would want.”
